Two centuries ago, Horatio Nelson defeated the combined French and Spanish fleet at The Cape of Trafalgar. HMS Victory, his flagship, must surely be the most famous and romantic ship of all time.
During the period of restoration 1922-1927 it was necessary to remove materials from Victory’s structure. It is from this ever diminishing supply of material that the Famous Tree Company is producing beautiful, imaginative pieces for future generations to treasure. Now you have an opportunity to purchase some of these unique items.
If you buy something from this site how do you know that it’s really HMS Victory oak?

Deed of Provenance Certificate

The second Sea Lord, the present Captain of HMS Victory and the Head of Disposals for the MOD have all authorised the material and every piece carries a deed of provenance.

Full Copper SheetHMS Victory Full Copper Sheet

A very exclusive item - a complete sheet of copper rescued from the hull of Victory. HMS Victory originally had 3,800 four foot by eighteen inch sheets of copper, completely covering the hull under the water line to stop Gribble and Teredo worm from laying their eggs in the oak. It eradicated the problem, made the English ships faster through the water and is the origin of the expression "copper bottom investment". Only very few full sheets remain and only the ones carrying the King’s mark (a small arrow) are used to create these very precious mementoes of a great ship. Each sheet is mounted onto a strong panel which features a slice of Victory oak at each end and is covered with fine English leather. Size including panel 60 x 140 cm.
